
STORY
STORY is a European project researching new energy storage technologies and their benefits in distribution systems and involves 18 Partner Institutions in 7 different European countries. STORY wants to demonstrate and evaluate innovative approaches for energy storage systems. The challenge is to find solutions, which are affordable, secure and ensure an increased percentage of self-supply.

Speakers
Mr. Tuerk is a Senior Researcher at Joanneum Research.
Since 2006, he has worked at the institute of energy research at Joanneum Research, following the completion of his studies. His main responsibilities include research within different projects related to Climate Policy, Emissions Trading and the Kyoto project mechanisms and consultancy of companies in these research fields.
His research areas are national and international climate policy and the Kyoto project mechanisms.
Andreas studied Chemistry and Environmental Science at the University of Graz. He continued with an MBA in Economic Studies at the Danube University.
Mr. Gubina is Associate Professor at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Ljubljana. Between 2002 and 2005, he headed the Risk Management Department at Holding Slovenske elektrarne d.o.o., Ljubljana. Since March 2007, he is a Senior Researcher and Head of the Laboratory for Energy Policy at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering.
Currently, he is the Project Coordinator of H2020 EU project COMPILE. His field of research encompasses Power System Economics and Deregulation, Production Planning under Open Electricity Market Conditions, Risk Management and Asset Management in EPS, Load Forecasting, Demand Side Management, Energy Efficiency of Demand and Renewable Energy Sources integration. He is a guest lecturer on RES integration and policy design in Europe, and holder of technology patents. He is a Senior Member of IEEE PES and Member of CIGRE Paris.
Marjan Jerele (male): born 21.1.1960, he graduated at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in 1984, Master’s degree in science gained in 2006 at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences. First employment at Iskra Sistemi, from 1986 to 1991 joined the Elektroinštitut Milan Vidmar as an independent researcher in the Department for High Voltage. From 1991 – 1995 being a designer and project manager at company Energoinženiring and ENERGOMONT responsible for the energy and industrial automation systems. Since 1996 employed at Elektro Gorenjska d.d, first as a protection and measurement engineer, later held the office of the Technical director of the company, currently employed as Assistant TO Director of OU DO. During last years being intensely involved in different R/D project as EG coordinator for EU financed project Increase, STORY, TDX Assist and Easy Res.
Mr. Ervin Planinc earned a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering in 2007 and a Master of Science degree in 2016, both from the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of electrical engineering. He is employed with ELES, the Slovenian national Transmission System Operator. First he was working in Transmission System Development Service and for the past five years he works in System Operation Division. He is the project manager of several smart grid projects, among which is the largest project of installation of battery energy storage systems as part of SINCRO.GRID project.
